Technology has seeped to almost every aspect of our life. It is very difficult to live without technology these days especially the young generation. Technology  is now part of our life and make our life easier. The applications of technology are used in various field these days. One of it is education. Nowadays, more and more teachers choose to integrate technology in their classroom activities. Learning activity such as writing can get more stimulating to students by involving  technology to it.

I will definitely going to integrate technology in my teaching method. It is because technology has the power to turn a boring lesson into something very enjoyable for the students. It is very important to capture the students focus and attention during teaching and learning process.

Through the integration of technology in teaching writing, the usual and typical teaching and learning process will never be the same again. Through this method the classroom atmosphere will become so much more interesting and exciting not only for the students but also for the teachers.

Websites such as Busy Teacher and BBC School enable teachers to get access to unlimited resources for teaching. These types of websites provide variety of worksheets, lesson plan and activities. Not only it is convenient for the teachers to obtain materials for their lesson but it also lift the burden from the teachers to come out with their own lesson plan and materials. Through  such websites,

 

In addition the existence of  tools such as Prezi, Easy Test Maker and Gloyster enable teachers to create their own material. Hence, if they could not found anything that related to his/her lesson plan, the teachers can always design their own material. For tools such as Prezi, presentation will become a lot more eye catching because of its creative layout.

Moreover, the idea of creating E-Portfolio as a collection of work that has been done is another great example of how useful technology can be if It is widely used in this field. E-Portfolio is not only easy to access but also very convenient to organize.

Nevertheless, there are issues and challenges in implementing the use of technology in teaching writing. For instance, in rural area it will be very tricky to use technology because of the limited access of internet. Without internet, teachers won’t be able to access the available teaching and resources all over the world. Besides, lack of time will also get in the way since teachers are also burden with other activity.

Even though we will be facing problem in integrating technology in teaching writing, but there’s no doubt that it really can bring benefits to teachers and learners. Maybe in the near future  we can see technology being fully use in teaching writing and education in general.
